A hotel day pass is your ticket to enjoy the luxury facilities (like rooftop pools, spas, and sports equipment) that are usually only available for guests who stay there. These passes typically cost a flat rate per person, and many hotels also offer credit for food and drinks. They are popular with locals, Airbnb and other vacation rental guests who don’t have access to resort-like pools, and cruise ship passengers in town for the day.
In NYC, the Williamsburg Hotel’s pool is reopening this month after being closed for COVID-19, with daily passes starting at $150 (or a cabana reservation for $300, Sunday-Thursday). The pool is in a trendy neighborhood, and it’s got that Bali meets Malibu meets south of France aesthetic vibe. Day pass holders get pool access from 10am – 4pm, lounge chairs and a purse locker, plus towel service. There’s even an option to upgrade to a VIP wellness day pass, which includes pool access, a 50-minute massage or facial, and free wifi.

Similarly, at Virgin Hotels NYC’s 4th floor rooftop in downtown, a day pass will set you back $105 (or a cabana rental for $300) and get you four hours of pool access with boozy ice pops, craft cocktails, and refreshing bites, all with unobstructed Empire State Building views. They’re currently open Monday-Friday, and they’ll be adding Saturdays in spring 2023.
